A Bit About Me
I’m Becca - a Fire Horse born in 1966 in England. I grew up mostly in Yorkshire, in the north of England, but also spent time at school in Kenya, where I still have family (as I do back in Yorkshire). In 2010, I moved to Canada with my husband, Stephen, and our sons, Jamie and Oscar.
I help edit the murder mysteries, usually after they’ve been written and played once during initial testing. Being present for the playtests is one of my favourite parts of the process - there’s nothing better than seeing the writing come alive. I especially love the discussions at the end, when everyone talks about what worked and what didn’t. That feedback is gold.
Alongside editing, I take care of the behind‑the‑scenes work: building and updating the website, figuring out marketing, listing the games on Etsy, creating printed props, and handling social media.
More recently, I've started being more involved in the writing, starting with co-writing The Merecliff Murders set in the Yorkshire Dales. It's all fun to me!
I also very genuinely provide tea and snacks.
Outside of murder mysteries, I’m a pattern designer. I create colourful patterns for fabric and products like bags and notebooks, which I sell on my website at www.beccahunter.com, if you’re curious.
I love games and play regularly. Current favourites include Minecraft, Bananagrams, Wingspan, and Hanabi. I’m also very taken with Probe - a terrible name, but a brilliant game.
